Aurora Police Not Going Far Enough

To serve and protect is the motto of many of the nations police departments, protect each other is what they do. A recent article on a local Denver news web page stated the Aurora Police Department knew of allegations against two former officers for one for sexual misconduct/assault and the other for processing kiddie pornography. I knew one of the officers personally from my time working as a paramedic in Aurora. I sensed something was different about him and not just he was from New York, as am I. He had an air about him that he was arrogant and he had a badge and a gun why mess with me attitude. I was not shocked when I heard this former DARE officer was arrested for his crimes, the question was he had done this before and the department did nothing about it. Chief Oates was not in command when officer Mangino started his sexual spree but the prosecutor allowing this officer to accept a plea is ridiculous! he was a person the community expected to act above and beyond after all he was supposed to protect minors. Mangino is a disgrace as is the APD cover up.... APD Internal Affairs.... You have not gone far enough!

Here He Goes Again

Who is annoying me now? Obama and his planned immigration reform. Obama thinks helping immigrants come into the country legally will help the economy. Well, they do not want to come legally because then they would have to pay into the system they abuse. Why buy the cow when the milk is free? A group of senators thinks this is the answer? They have proposals to help keep workers who excel in sciences and mathematics. How about promoting from within? How about making a college education move affordable for U.S citizens instead of giving tuition breaks to immigrants......A bipartisan group of senators... have gone to far

Cell Phones Hang Up and Live

Why am I annoyed about cell phone's, I'm not, I'm annoyed at their owners who excessively use them. Why is it people who work at least eight hours and day and more than likely spend a part of their day on the phone feel compelled to dial as soon as they get in the car. Statistics have shown distracted driving leads to car accidents. I wont even discuss text messaging while driving.... that's just stupid and potentially deadly. I was in my doctors office the other day and another patient was sitting there and even though there is a sign asking people from refraining using their cell phones.... he still did. I do not need to hear this jackass trying to make a sales call while sitting in a doctors office, or Starbucks or a grocery store. News alert you are not that important.

I commute to to work at 5:00 am and when I pull up to a traffic light I have to ask, who the hell are you talking to? People go into restaurants and store yakking all the way and when they get to cashier they are to entitled to hang up and complete their transaction let alone think about the rest of us in line. Cell phone users.....have gone to far

In State Tuition for Illegal Aliens....Really???

The first hurdle in allowing in state tuition rates for illegal immigrants passed. Why am I annoyed? I paid for my education the old fashioned, I worked and went to school and I'm an American citizen, I just wanted that on the record. Other states charge American citizens attending their schools an out of state of state tuition rate, sometimes double the instate rate. What should the rate be for an out of country student? Why does Colorado insist on helping illegal immigrants while American families who pay into the system via their income taxes (well most do) go broke trying to pay for a college education... yet an illegal is going to get a break. No other country in the world just hands a check and medical benefits to anyone who applies or comes across the border and has a kid in a U.S hospital. I lived in Canada for a while and I needed to have an established residence for two years and meet other criteria before I could apply for resident medical benefits. I just don't get it. I could ramble on for hours but the Colorado Legislature....has gone too far!
